 Teachers Urges Governor Makinde To Embark On Massive Teachers Recruitment 


An urgent and passionate appeal has gone to governor Seyi Makinde to embark on massive recruitment of teachers to fill the consequential  vacances in primary schools across the State.


The chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers, Oyo State comrade Raji Oladimeji made the call on Wednesday during the annual teachers day celebration held at NUT model school,  Owode area, Ibadan. 


Comrade Raji while welcoming the guests and top government dictionaries to the elaborate event which also had in attendance representatives from all the local government across the state also advise the government to increase service years to age 65 or 40years in service before retirement. 


He disclosed that the extenssion will save the classrooms from emptiness and to avoid brain drain in schools and accord the system the productive opportunity of pedagogical transition from the senior and experienced teachers to the upcoming ones. 


He said this will make the state to be among states of the federation who implemented the Act 2022 .


While calling for the promotion of teachers who are qualified for promotion he urged parents to also cooperate with teachers for a better future of their wards. 


The Chairman of the occasion Engr. (DR) Dotun Sanusi who was honoured with an award of excellence while speaking with journalists stated that teaching needs more motivation and that government at all levels must do things to encourage the teachers. 


The founder of a citadel of learning and one of the foremost resource center in Ibadan, Sanusi also advise parents not to under estimate the values of teachers but to encourage them because of the task of impacting knowledge into the students. 


A lecture tittled "The Teachers We Need For Education We Want : The Global Imperative to Reverse the Teacher Shortage was delivered by comrade Olu Abiala a former chairman of the union while the climax of the event was a match past by the representatives of various teachers from all the local governments in the state.
